Onalaska native Lexi Donarski and the North Carolina women’s basketball team continues to move up the polls, as the regular season winds down.

The Tar Heels (25-4), who have won seven in a row and 12 of 13, moved up a spot to No. 8 in the polls, ahead of their game at No. 16 Duke (21-7) on Thursday.

Donarski is fourth on the team in scoring at 10 points a game. The top four scorers average between 10-11.1 points.

Donarski, in her final collegiate season, is shooting a near career best from beyond the arc at 40.4%, hitting 2.2 3s per game. Her freshman year at Iowa State, she shot 41.1% from deep, hitting 1.9 3s per game.

Donarski has scored in double figures 8 of 11 games, including 13 on Sunday in a win at Louisville.

Over that stretch, she’s hit 46.8% of her 3s, while averaging 11.8 points a game.

The Tar Heels beat Duke 53-46 in overtime back on Jan. 9. That came after a 76-66 loss to Notre Dame (24-3), which is now the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.

NC’s other two losses have come to No. 5 UConn (26-3), Georgia Tech (21-7) and No. 24 Florida State (22-6).
