Donarski scores 15, including bucket with 27 seconds left to seal win for No. 12 North Carolina
Onalaska native Lexi Donarski scored 15 points, including a layup with 27 seconds left, in helping the 12th-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team get a 67-62 win over Virgina Tech.
Donarski’s layup put the Tar Heels (22-4) up 65-62.
The Hokies (16-9), on their next possession, missed the tying 3-pointer with 5 seconds left and NC hit free two throws after that to put things out of reach.
Donarski was 6 of 13 from the field, including 3-for-7 from deep. She added two steals, two assists and a rebounds with no turnovers in 37 minutes.

This was Donarski’s sixth double-digit scoring effort in her last eight games. During that span, she’s been on fire from beyond the arc, hitting 49% of her 3s (22-for-45). That included three consecutive games where she nailed five 3-pointers each.
North Carolina now gets a tough matchup at 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPN against No. 10 NC State (20-4).
