One meet into the indoor season and UW-La Crosse sprinter Lauren Jarrett already set a NCAA Division III record.

The junior from La Crosse won the 60-meter dash Saturday at UW-L’s new Hetzel Fieldhouse in 7.37 seconds at the Pat Healy Classic.

The old record was 7.40 seconds, set in 2018 by University of Massachusetts-Boston’s Wadeline Jonathas.

Jarrett’s time also broke her own school record of 7.41 set last season

In the 200, Jarret also set a school and facility record in winning in 24.26.

Her time there currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division III history.

The UW-L track & field team will be on the road Friday for the UW-Whitewater Pentathlon and Saturday for the UW-W Warhawk classic.
