Lexi Donarski has probably not had a streak like the one she’s on right now since her Aquinas High School days.

For the third consecutive game, the Onalaska native led the 13th-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team in scoring, hitting five 3-pointers in all three games.

Donarski had 17 points, as the Tar Heels blew out Wake Forest 76-51 for their fifth consecutive win and eighth win in nine games.

Donarski, in her final collegiate season, was 6-for-9 from the field, including 5 of 6 from deep. She added two assists, a steal and a board in 27 minutes.

Over her past three games, Donarski has scored 45 points, going 14-for-24 from beyond the arc.

It’s the fourth time this season she’s nailed five 3-pointers in game, which is the second-most she’s ever hit. Her career best is six 3s, which she did three times last year and four times in her career.

Donarski is no stranger to scoring double figures or even doing so multiple games in a row. She’s had stretches where she’s hit multiple 3-pointers in multiple games, too — though never this many.

What makes this stretch unique is that the point distribution on the Tar Heels (18-3) is so dispersed. Seven players score between 6.8 and 11.5 points a game. And Thursday night, exactly seven players scored between 6 and 17 points.
