Badgers back in Top 25 with only one sub-.500 team left on schedule
Now that it’s back in the Top 25, we’ll see if the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team can stay there.
The Badgers (13-3) are back in the rankings at No. 23, after five consecutive wins against mostly lackluster teams.
The rest of the season, though, should be a good indicator of where UW fits in the grand scheme.
Wisconsin hosts Ohio State (10-6) at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Wisconsin found its way back in with five straight wins, but the only quality one — and it was convincing — was the complete blowout of 12-4 Iowa 116-85.
There are no ranked teams on UW’s immediate schedule, until three consecutive matchups beginning Feb. 15 with No. 17 Purdue, followed by No. 19 Illinois and 13th-ranked Oregon.
Before those games, however, every opponent Wisconsin plays has a solid record, so there won’t really be any “days off” now or for the rest of the season — except, of course, Minnesota.
