No. 7 Badgers swept by 3rd-ranked Nebraska in Elite Eight
The University of Wisconsin volleyball team’s season ended Sunday in the Elite Eight.
For the third time this season, the No. 7 and second-seeded Badgers were swept by No. 3 and top seed, Nebraska.
The Badgers (21-6) went to the Final Four last year, losing to Texas in the semifinals. The Longhorns won the National Title by sweeping the Cornhuskers. Wisconsin won the title in 2021.
On the other half of the bracket, unranked Marquette was eliminated Friday, 3-1, by second-ranked Penn State. It was the third time in Marquette history they got to the Sweet 16.
All four top seeds — No. 1-ranked Pitt, No. 4 Louisville, Penn St. and Nebraska — are in the Final Four. They also happened to be the Top 4 ranked teams heading into the tourney.
