Onalaska’s Donarski and North Carolina — on six-game win streak — move up two spots in Top 25 poll
Onalaska native Lexi Donarski and the North Carolina women’s basketball team have moved up two spots in the Top 25 poll.
With blowout wins over then-No. 14 Kentucky (72-53) and Coppin State (72-46), the Tar Heels are now ranked 14th in the nation.
North Carolina (9-1) has won six consecutive games heading into Wednesday’s matchup with UNC Greensboro.
The Tar Heels’ only loss came to No. 2 UConn at home 69-58. The Huskies got out to a 25-14 first-quarter lead and never looked back.
Minnesota native Paige Bueckers scores 29 points in that one.
Meanwhile, Donarski is second on the team in scoring at 9.6 points. Six players average between 8-3-11.3 points.
Donarski, in her final collegiate season, is also averaging 2.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists. She’s shooting just 42.2 percent from the field, hitting 2.1 3-pointers per game at a 36.8-percent clip.
