Franklin gets 25 kills as No. 6 Wisconsin pulls out 5-set win vs. Ohio St.
The sixth-ranked University of Wisconsin volleyball team bounced back from a sweep by No. 2 Nebraska, by beating Ohio State 3-2 on Wednesday at the UW Field House.
Save for the Badgers’ last two matches against Nebraska, they would have a 15-game win streak.
Against OSU (14-15,7-12 Big Ten), Sarah Franklin had conference Big Ten high 25 kills, while teammate Charlie Fuerbringer recorded a new career-high with 59 assists and was just a dig shy of a double-double.
Teammate Anna Smrek and Carter Booth each added 11 kills, while Julia Orzol rounded out double figure kills with 10 for the Badgers, who hit .261 (72 kills – 26 errors – 176 attempts).
Up next, Badgers (22-6,16-3) will conclude regular season play beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday night against Michigan State on the Big Ten Network.
