Onalaska native Lexi Donarski led the way Sunday for the North Carolina women’s basketball team with 14 points in a 53-36 win over Villanova.
Donarski and the 16th-ranked Tar Heels (5-1) will be on ESPN2 at 11 a.m. Monday against Indiana. North Carolina doesn’t play anyone in the Midwest this season. But they are at Miami on Dec. 29, for any fans looking to vacation and take in some hoops.
In Sunday’s win, Donarski, a senior who was third on the team in scoring last season, was 6-for-10 from the field, 2 of 5 from deep for NC. She added two rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block (see here) and just one turnover in 29 minutes.
The shooting guard’s best game so far this season was a 21-point effort against UNC-Wilmington back on Nov. 7. She had five 3-pointers in that win.
