Several Coulee Region high school football teams have qualified for the playoffs.

In Division 2, it’ll be a Mississippi Valley Conference rematch from Week 7, as fifth-seeded Central travels to No. 4 Holmen. Central beat the Vikings at Roger Harring Stadium 36-17 in Week 7. Holmen finished the season losing to Reedsburg 35-21, while Central, which could have clinched the MVC outright, lost to Logan 27-19.

In Division 3, two MVC teams earned the right to host. Second-seeded Onalaska will host Merrill on Friday. The winner faces the winner of Waupaca at Logan. The potential second round matchup would be a repeat of one of the best games of the year, when Logan overcame a 22-point deficit in the 2nd half to win 36-35 in overtime.

Fourth-ranked Aquinas received a one seed in their first season in Division 4, after being bumped up from D5 in the first year of the WIAA’s performance factor, which takes into account the record for the last three seasons. The Bluegolds finished 8-1 and undefeated in the Coulee Conference. They’ll face No. 8 Edgewood. Conference rival West Salem is a No. 3 seed in the same region and will match up with Platteville.
