The 12th-ranked University of Wisconsin-La Crosse football team blew a 19-point, second-half lead and lost 34-33 to No. 20 UW-Oshkosh on the road Saturday.

It’s the third-consecutive loss for the Eagles (2-3, 0-2), who came into the season with the expectation of winning a Division III National Championship. Now, a playoff berth might be hard to get.

All three losses have come to ranked opponents, including Grand Valley State, which is No. 2 in Division II, and an 11th-ranked UW-Platteville team that has soared up the D3Football.com rankings, and will move up again after destroying No. 4 UW-River Falls, 28-7.

UW-L was up 33-14 after a field goal with 9:12 remaining in the third quarter.

The Titans then scored three consecutive touchdowns in the final 17 minutes of the game, capped off by a 16-yard winner with 1:01 remaining.

Kyle Haas played the entire game at quarterback for the Eagles, going 22-for-35 for 250 yard with two touchdowns and one interception. He also had 40 yards rushing and a score.

UW-O QB Cole Warren was 26-for-42 for 294 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, plus another 65 yards rushing and a score.
