WKTY Cares Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters 7 Rivers Region
30 Bigs in 30 Days: Help Big Brothers Big Sisters 7 Rivers Region Celebrate 55 Years of Mentorship!
September is Big Brothers Big Sisters Month, and this year, they’re celebrating 55 years of making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth in our community! As part of this milestone, they’re launching a special challenge: 30 Bigs in 30 Days. They need your help to recruit 30 new mentors, known as Bigs, who will provide life-changing, one-to-one support to youth in need.
For over five decades, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the 7 Rivers Region has been a pillar of support, matching children with caring adults who help guide them through life’s challenges. However, the need for more mentors is urgent. Every day, kids in our community are waiting for someone who can offer them encouragement, stability, and friendship.
Why One-to-One Mentoring Matters
Research shows that youth with mentors are likelier to stay in school, avoid risky behaviors, and develop positive social skills. BBBS’s programs like Big Buddies, Sports Buddies, and Community-Based Mentoring are designed to provide these crucial relationships. But they can’t do it alone – they need new Bigs to step up and change lives.
How You Can Help
BBBS 7 Rivers Region is asking you to help them find 30 new mentors this September. Whether you’re a potential Big, know someone who would be a great fit, or want to support their efforts financially, your involvement can make all the difference. Every donation helps them expand their capacity, retain their dedicated staff, and reach more youth in need.
