The La Crosse Loggers baseball team’s second-half struggles continued Wednesday, losing to Duluth 11-9.

Things could have been a lot worse, but the Loggers (27-22) put up five runs in the bottom of the ninth.

La Crosse is 5-10 to start the second half, but still sits in second place in the Great Plains East division, 1.5 games behind Thunder Bay and 2 games up on Duluth (25-24).

The Loggers homestand continues at 6:35 p.m. Thursday against Minot at Copeland Park.

Before the game, La Crosse learned catcher Luke Davis was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies. Davis led the team with five home runs and was third with 31 RBI. He was hitting .259.
