A softball-baseball doubleheader at Copeland Park resulted in one La Crosse team winning and the other losing Monday.
The La Crosse Steam softball team lost its first-ever home game, 11-2 to Mankato.
The Steam are now 2-5 on the season, though one of those losses was a forfeiture due to a “pitching violation,” according to co-owner Dan Kapanke. But that’s all the info that’s known at this time.
As for the Loggers baseball team, they beat Thunder Bay 8-3 and have now won six consecutive games.
The Loggers are now 16-9 and leading the Great Plains East division by 1.5 games.
They’re headed to Duluth for a doubleheader beginning at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday.
The Steam host Mankato at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday in Game 2 of a four-game homestand.
