Seven-run seventh propels Loggers over Eau Claire
Down three runs late Tuesday, the La Crosse Loggers baseball team needed just one inning to make a comeback.
A seven-run seventh brought the Loggers all the way back to pull out a 12-9 win at Eau Claire.
In the inning, the Loggers (10-8) had three hits, and took advantage of an error, four walks and a hit by pitch.
All seven runs against the Express (9-14) came with no outs.
Oddly, Luke Anderson got the big hit in the inning with a three-run double, but he became the first out on the play, trying to get another base.
La Crosse got down 6-1 after the first inning and it was 8-1 after two. But four runs in the fourth, before the big seventh was enough.
The two teams play again at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday in Eau Claire. The Loggers are back at home Thursday for six consecutive games.
