Aquinas moves on to state championship, while Logan falls in semifinals
The magical run of the Logan High School baseball team came to an end Wednesday, a game away from a state championship berth.
The Rangers lost 8-1 in the Division 2 semifinals at Fox Cities Stadium to top-seeded Mosinee.
The loss ends Logan’s six-game winning streak. The Rangers (17-11) were 6-6 in April before going 11-4 to get to state.
It was Logan’s first trip to state since 2007. Mosinee (25-5), which had never been to state before, plays Edgewood (21-6) for the title.
Meanwhile, top-seeded Aquinas won its Division 3 semifinal 10-0 over Cumberland.
The Blugolds (24-4) play for a state title at noon today against Kenosha St. Joseph (24-5).
