The shot that ended the Blugolds’ season came with .5 seconds left, when Landon Thousand nailed a 3-pointer to give second-ranked Mineral Point a one-point lead and eventual 62-61 win in the Division 4 state semifinals at the Kohl Center.

Things looked to be going ninth-ranked Aquinas’ way, as it had a 61-54 lead with 1:09 remaining. But the Blugolds (23-6) had three turnovers in the final 15.4 seconds that led to the dramatic Pointers (27-2) comeback.

Aquinas sophomore Logan Becker had a game-high 27 points, while Thousand finished with a team-high 24.
