Logan graduate Lauren Jarrett runs second-fastest DIII time ever in winning National Championship for UW-La Crosse
UW-La Crosse sprinter Lauren Jarrett not only became a National Champion over the weekend, but she ran the second-fastest 60-meter time in Division III history.
The Logan High School graduate and UW-L sophomore broke her own school record in the preliminaries and then ran a 7.41-second winning race in the Indoor National Championship finals at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
The time was .01 seconds slower than the all-time DIII record set by University of Massachusetts’ Wadeline Jonathas race of 7.40 at the 2018 national championships.
Jarrett, who became the first at UW-L to win a 60-meter national title, also took sixth in the 200 for the Eagles, who placed 12th as a team.
