The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team must have shown just enough last week to remain in the Top 10.

The Badgers dropped three spots to No. 9 in this week’s AP Poll, after blowing an 18-point, second-half lead in an overtime loss to Nebraska, 80-72. They followed that up losing to second-ranked Purdue, 75-69.

Wisconsin (16-6) is 2-3 against ranked team this season — the most notable win against then-No. 3 Marquette in early December. The Golden Eagles (17-5) rose two spots to No. 7 this week.

The Badgers’ three ranked losses are all still ranked in the Top 10 (No. 8 Arizona, Purdue and No. 6 Tennessee).

Their other ranked win came in November to then-No. 24 Virginia, which has since fallen out of the Top 25.

Wisconsin doesn’t have a ranked team on the schedule until March — when they play No. 10 Illinois, b before ending the regular season against Purdue.

The Badgers are at Michigan on Wednesday, before heading to Rutgers on Saturday.
