La Crosse’s Donarski drops 13, as No. 23 North Carolina upsets 13th-ranked Louisville
La Crosse native Lexi Donarski bounced back from a three-game slump in a big way, helping the 23rd-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team knock off No. 13 Louisville, 79-68 on Sunday.
The senior scored North Carolin’s first 10 points and finished second on the team, scoring 13.
She was 5-for-12 from the field and 3 of 7 from beyond the arc for the Tar Heels (14-5, 6-1), who are off to their best ACC start since 2013.
Coming into the matchup, the shooting guard had scored a total of 10 points over her past three games, going a combined 4-for-23 from the field and 2 of 13 from deep.
The win was North Carolina’s third in a row and eighth in its last nine.
This month, North Carolina has beaten three ranked teams, including No. 25 Syracuse and No. 16 Notre Dame. It did fall to 21st-ranked Florida State.
The Tar Heels also snapped a Louisville six-game win streak. The Cardinals came into the game having won 12 of its last 13.
Next up, North Carolina hosts Miami at 7 p.m. Thursday — a game that can be seen on the ACC Network through ESPN+.
