After coming off her best game of the season, La Crosse native Lexi Donarski scored 12 points, as the 24th-ranked North Carolina women’s basketball team fell to No. 17 UConn 76-64.
Last week, the Aquinas graduate scored 22 points on 7-for-9 shooting, including 6 of 8 from beyond the arc in an 81-77 win over North Carolina-Greensboro.
Sunday, the senior guard was 5-for-12 from the field and 2 of 5 from deep, adding three rebounds, an assist, a steal with two turnovers for the Tar Heels (6-4).
Donarski has started nine of 10 games, averaging 10.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals a game. She’s shooting 38.1 percent from the field but 40 percent from deep.
North Carolina next plays home Friday against Western Carolina.
