The Aquinas High School football team is headed back to Camp Randall looking for its third consecutive state championship.
The top-seeded and fourth-ranked Blugolds (12-1) won 58-14 over Horicon/Hustisford on Friday in the WIAA Division 5 semifinals at Wisconsin Dells High School.
At 4 p.m. Thursday, Aquinas will face Wrightstown (11-2), looking for its 17th consecutive playoff victory.
That’ll be a new opponent for the Blugolds, who beat Mayville each of the past two seasons to win state.
Last year, Aquinas finished 13-1, winning state 22-14. In 2021, they were 14-0, beating Mayville 28-26.
