They’re the No. 1 ranked team in the country, for the first time in school history.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men’s cross country team was awarded the ranking this week by the USTFCCCA.

The Eagles are coming off a sixth consecutive WIAC championship, as they get set for the NCAA Division III regionals next weekend. The Eagles had five runners finish in the Top 7 of the WIAC finale.

UW-Whitewater is ranked fourth in DIII. No other UW schools are in the Top 35.

Meanwhile, the UW-L women won the WIAC championships last weekend for the third consecutive season. The Eagles come in ranked 12th in the USTFCCCA polls this week.
