Two La Crosse teams left in the high school football playoffs.

In Division 2, fourth-seeded Central handled No. 5 DeForest easily Friday, 41-14.

The RiverHawks (9-1) will take on No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Waunakee (10-0) at 7 p.m. Friday. Waunakee has given up 40 points all season.

It beat DeForest 51-14 in Week 1 and proceeded to not give up more than seven points in any game the rest of the season, including five shutouts.

Central’s only loss came 29-28 to Onalaska in Week 4.

Those Hilltoppers will play in the second round a rematch of a Week 2 loss. After beating Rhinelander 56-6 in Round 1, third-seeded Onalaska (7-3) now heads to No. 2 Medford (8-2), which beat the Hilltoppers 52-35.

Also in Division 2, Logan was blown out by top-seeded Rice Lake 50-7, while No. 4 Sparta beat Lakeland 43-8 and will face Rice Lake.

In Division 4, fourth-seeded West Salem faces No. 1 seed Lodi, which is ranked No. 2 in the Medium Division. The Panthers beat Adams-Friendship 33-14 in Round 1.

In Division 5, top-seeded and fourth-ranked Aquinas will play No. 5 Watertown Luther at UW-La Crosse. The defending state champion Blugolds beat New Glarus/Monticello 42-6 in the first round.

Also headed to Round 2 is second-seeded Prairie du Chien, which will host third-seeded Columbus. PdC beat Clinton 42-20 in Round 1.

And, in Division 7, four area teams remain in the same region — three of which are ranked.

Third-ranked and top-seeded Cashton will host fifth-seed Cochrane-Fountain City. Cashton beat Blair-Taylor 48-22, while C-FC upset No. 4 New Lisbon 14-8.

Sixth-ranked Pepin/Alma will face seventh-ranked Bangor in the other half of the region. Bangor beat Royall 28-0, while P/A defeated Melrose-Mindoro 42-7.
