The expectations now for the UW-La Crosse (4-1, 2-0) football team just skyrocketed after this past weekend.
The Eagles snapped a 19-game losing streak to the perennial Division III powerhouse UW-Whitewater.
The 34-31 win on the road, thanks to Michael Stack’s 51-yard field goal as time expired, propelled UW-L to No. 6 in the country — jumping eight spots — while the Warhawks (4-1, 1-1) dropped from ranked third to No. 7.
The winning streak began in 2005. Since that time, UW-W has won 14 WIAC championships and six National Championships.
