He’s never experienced Oktoberfest before, let alone what Oktoberfest in La Crosse has to offer.

WKTY Morning show host Ebo will be at Sloopy’s Alma Mater at 6 a.m. Friday morning to do his show and take part in the Tapping of the Golden Can.

“I don’t know exactly what to expect, because I’ve never done it before, but I’ve heard the legend of Sloopy’s, and the Tapping of the Golden Can as a right of passage for any good Wisconsinite,” Ebo said. “So, I’m expecting a really good time and I assume that’s what’s going to happen.”

“I’ve been on Third Street a couple times, but I’ve never been to Sloopy’s and the Oktoberfest fairgrounds,” he added. “So, I’m very excited to do that. I am sticking around to have my first, true, Oktoberfest experience.”

Ebo will be joined by WKTY Wisco Sports Show host Grant Bilse. The two are excited to do the live show in front of what is expected to be a huge Oktoberfest crowd.

“Would love to get a ton of listeners on air to get their experience of Oktoberfest and the Tapping of the Golden Can,” Ebo said. “I love it. I love the atmosphere. Can’t wait to have the ambiance and everyone there. And if you’re not there, hopefully listening to WKTY as I’m doing it.”

And, like any good show host, Ebo is ready to abide by Oktoberfest traditions.

“As a good morning show host, wherever there’s a bar open, and they want to have me, I would love nothing more than to have a beer that early in the morning,” Ebo joked. “So, I’m not a novice there, either.”

The party starts at 6 a.m. at Sloopy’s on Copeland Ave. (map). The first 50 people there get a free Tapping of the Golden Can t-shirt.
