Four western Wisconsin high school football teams are now in the Top 10 of the latest AP poll.

Cashton, Bangor and Aquinas are ranked second, third and fourth respectively, in the Small Division, while Pepin/Alma (5-0) comes in eighth.

Cashton and Bangor — two Scenic Bluff Conference teams — are both 5-0, while the defending state champion Blugolds (4-1) did lose 16-12 in Week 1 to Prairie du Chien (3-2). Since then, they’ve scored over 40 points in three of their last four games.

Cashton has been rolling its opponents, with three consecutive shutouts, and one forfeit, after giving up a whopping six points in Week 1. Cashton is averaging 49.5 points a game.

Bangor is putting up 36.2 a contest, while giving up just eight per game, which includes two shutouts.

The only other area team to crack the polls is Westby (5-0) in the Medium Division, ranked just outside the Top 10.

Here is The Associated Press high school football poll. The poll includes first-place votes in parentheses, season record, total points and last week’s ranking, as voted upon by a statewide panel of sports writers. Teams are arranged in three divisions of equal size based on current enrollments
