La Crosse native Johnny Davis tied his career-high of 20 points in back-to-back games, as the Washington Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks 134-116.
Davis was 8 of 18 from the field and 1-for-4 from beyond the arc Wednesday. He, again, had a complete game, adding seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, two steals and four turnovers in a team-high 36 minutes.
Davis has now set or tied his career high in points in three consecutive games. He first set it Sunday, scoring 16 points at the New York Knicks, and broke it again Tuesday with 20 points against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The two blocks and two steals also tied career highs, which were initially set against the Bucks.
Davis has started the past three games for the Wizards, who are trying to get as much experience as they can for their No. 10 pick, who recently was recalled from the G-League.
He’s scored in double figures four consecutive games and five of the past six.
Washington has two games left — Friday home against the Miami Heat and Sunday in Washington against the Houston Rockets.
