La Crosse’s Davis averaging 9 points for No. 14 Badgers, who host Minnesota on Tuesday
The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team has moved up in the college basketball rankings, ahead of a rivalry game Tuesday night.
The Badgers are now ranked No. 14 — one notch higher than last week — with a 10-2 record, as they get set to host Minnesota (6-6), looking for their fifth consecutive win.
Their only losses came to No. 3 Kansas (12-1) by one point, and to Wake Forest (10-4) by 3.
Wisconsin guard Jordan Davis scored nine points last Friday in a 76-66 win over Western Michigan.
The La Crosse native has started all 12 games this season, averaging 7.3 points, 3.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes. Davis, however, is shooting just 41 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc.
This will be the third matchup in the past five days between teams from Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Milwaukee Bucks won over the Timberwolves 123-114 on Friday and, of course, the Green Bay Packers destroyed the Vikings 41-17 on Sunday.
Wisconsin-Minnesota tips off at 8 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
