Some good news, as Brewers need to win final three games to make playoffs over Phillies, who must lose all three
A day after blowing a ninth-inning lead, the Milwaukee Brewers lost 4-3 in 12 innings Sunday to the Miami Marlins, all but ending their hopes for a playoff berth.
Milwaukee is two games behind the Philadelphia Phillies with three games remaining.
All the Phillies have to do is win one, as they hold the tiebreaker.
The good news for the Brewers, they play all three at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks — a team 13-games under .500.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia plays all three on the road at Houston, which has the second-best record in baseball.
More good news for the Brewers — Brandon Woodruff, who is 13-4 this season, is on the mound Monday and Cy Young Corbin Burnes pitches Wednesday. Eric Lauer takes the mound Tuesday with his 10-7 record and respectable 3.83 ERA.
