The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team is looking for someone to play Thursday at the Kohl Center, after Morgan State said it is unable to travel to Madison due to COVID-19 complications within its program.

It was part of a men’s-women’s doubleheader — though the games are scheduled six hours apart. The women’s game vs. Eastern Illinois is still scheduled for noon, while the men’s team looks for an opponent for the 6 p.m. game.

The Badgers (9-2) are ranked 24th in the latest AP poll, coming off a 73-55 loss to Ohio State followed by a 71-68 win over Nicholls without leading scorer, La Crosse native Johnny Davis.

The sophomore missed last game due to a non-COVID related illness. It was the second game this season he’s missed. The first, a loss to Providence, was due to a bruised heel.
