Wisconsin volleyball takes on No. 1, undefeated Louisville in Final Four opener
For the third consecutive season, the University of Wisconsin volleyball team playing in the Final Four.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, the fourth-ranked Badgers (29-3) get the No. 1 team in the nation to start off — Louisville (32-0).
The game will be on ESPN.
The Big Ten champs have yet to win the title, but Wisconsin has been runners-up in 2019, 2013 and 2000.
They’re led by 6-foo-8, Dana Rettke — the first-ever five-time All-American — and the Big Ten setter of the year Sydney Hilly, a three-time All-American.
The Badgers have not played the Cardinals this season.
Louisville is trying to be the first team to go unbeaten in winning a title since Penn State did it back-to-back in 2008 and 2009.
Following Wisconsin-Louisville, on the other side of the bracket, third-ranked Pitt (30-3) takes on 10th-ranked Nebraska (25-7).
The Cornhuskers have won titles in 2015 and 2017.
Wisconsin swept Nebraska this season (3-0, 3-1). It has not played Pitt.
Of five ESPN volleyball experts, three picked Louisville to win the NCAA title, while the other two picked the Badgers.
