What’s on the table today?: NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year: Betting Odds

With the first week of NFL Preseason behind us and our first chance to see this year’s crop of NFL Rookie QB’s, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends, I felt it was appropriate to take a look at the Top 10 offensive rookies (by odds) to win the Offensive ROY.

For Green Bay Packers fans, this does EXCLUDE Jordan Love because while Love didn’t suit up for the Pack in 2020, he is still in his 2nd year and will not be included.

After a review of the first week of preseason, which I know, is JUST the first week of preseason, I’ve got a really strong feeling that Justin Fields leaves the Bears coaching staff no choice but to start him over Dalton after going 14-20 with a TD in the air, and one on the ground part of his 5 carries for 33 yards. I know the Bears said Dalton will be the starter come Week 1 no matter what, but just like Russell Wilson did when he entered the league behind former Packer Matt Flynn, I see Fields giving the Bears no choice but to start him. His upside is HUGE.

I think Fields has a VERY good chance to be this years’ Offensive ROY if he does indeed supplant Dalton to start the season.

Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson and Trey Lance also made debuts this weekend and all had some flashes (Jones and Wilson playing the best) showing this years’ crop of QB’s to be a very good one with some real potential to be long-term starters in the league. We can’t forget however there are quite a few other top-end offensive performers who can vie for the ROY and below is a breakdown of the TOP 10 (by odds) offensive rookies in the NFL and the price you can get them for.

Thanks goes out to our friends at SportsBettingDime for giving us the latest odds from DraftKings
