What’s on the table today?: Islanders @ Lightning Game 5: Betting Preview & Predictions
The NHL Postseason continues tonight in Tampa Bay with the Lightning hoping to rebound from a Game 4 loss on the road in New York 3-2 which tied the series at 2 games a piece.
Tampa Bay is a heavy favorite tonight and has been a very good home team this year posting a record of 25-8-2. The Islanders are an average road team during the regular season going 16-16-3-1.
Tonight’s game has the Lightning coming in at (-182) and taking a whopping 72% of the bets so far. The Islanders are underdogs at (+165) and the total goals has been set at 5.5.
Islanders are 6-1 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game, and the Lightning are 7-3 in their last 10.
The OVER is 5-1-1 in Islanders last 7 overall, 5-1-1 in Islanders last 7 games as an underdog, and 5-1-1 in Islanders last 7 playoff games as an underdog. However, the UNDER is 4-0-1 in the Lightning’s last 5 Monday games, and 8-2-1 in Lightning last 11 overall.
So, where do we put our money tonight? I’m feeling a play on both Tampa Bay (-182) and a play on the UNDER are the best bets. This series is already a tough, grind it out affair, and I think Tampa Bay at home will win, and keep this game low scoring.
