Loggers drop season-opener on road in 10

On the road for the season-opener Monday, the La Crosse Loggers fell to Mankato 2-1 in 10 innings.
An RBI single to left did in the Loggers, who are back at it on the road again beginning at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Loggers’ home-opener at Copeland Park is at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday against the Minnesota Mud Puppies.
Mankato overcame three errors and had just three hits in the win.
Down one, Zac Czerniawski scored on a Darrian Escobar-Winter double for the Loggers (0-1).
Travis Luensmann, Cameron Crain, Erik Demchuck and Marius Balandis combined to pitch the first nine innings. They allowed just one hit through seven for La Crosse, while teammate JT Reed had two hits.
