Brewers futures & the historic run of the Utah Jazz

Dave Carney 2/17/2021

What’s on the table today?: Brewers Futures (NL Central odds) (NL Champ odds) (World Series odds) & UTAH JAZZ on a historic run ATS.

UTAH JAZZ on a historic run ATS

Don’t look now but the Utah Jazz are an NBA best at 23-5, currently on an 8 game winning streak and on the season, are simply CRUSHING it ATS.

This morning on the program I discussed something I heard on The Daily Wager with fellow Vegas dude Doug Kazarian last night, the Utah Jazz over the past 20 games are 18-1-1 ATS. That’s an INCREDIBLE run that is in historic territory for best 20 game streaks of all-time ATS.

Since the numbers I was going to try and break down for you are already done (and much better) by ESPN staff writer David Purdum I will link his article here so you get all the goods in detail.  However, I’ll highlight a couple here which shows you just how dominant the Jazz have been ATS this season and where this places them in a historical betting sense.

  • Utah’s 18-1-1 against the spread (ATS) is the second-best mark during a 20-game stretch in any regular season over the last 30 years, according to ESPN Stats and Information’s odds database, which goes back to 1990.

  • Only the 2014-15 Atlanta Hawks, who went 19-1 ATS from Dec. 15, 2014 through Jan. 25, 2015, have put together a better 20-game run against the number.

Tonight the Jazz are -3.5 on the road versus the LA Clippers, and when you look at these numbers from Covers.com you can see why the Jazz are widely considered the pick today from sharps across the country.

Utah Jazz:

  • 21-7 ATS this season
  • 7-1 ATS in their last eight games on the road.
  • 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games when playing on one day’s rest.

Los Angeles Clippers:

  • 1-5 ATS in their last six games against teams with a winning percentage greater than 60%.

MLB Futures – NL Central, NL Pennant, World Series

Up next for us, a look ahead to the MLB postseason (yes I know the season has just started) for an early glance at MLB futures on the board right now.

My friends at VegasInsider.com have done a great job at putting together all the futures in a sleek, consensus fashion. For our purposes I’ll show you what the Brewers are looking like in the NL Central odds to win the division, NL Pennant, and World Series.

Again, these numbers are EARLY, which means if you have a strong feeling about your team, now’s the time to make a wager. As the season gets going, wins and losses start adding up, these numbers will change, and some will be dramatic. If you have a strong feeling (or have a favorite team you want to wager on), now is the time to jump on these futures bets.
