A much anticipated matchup between two Top 10 teams in college basketball ended up being a severe letdown for Wisconsin fans last night.

No. 7 Michigan destroyed the ninth-ranked Badgers 77-54.

The Wolverines had a stretch from the first half into the second where they outscored the Badgers 43-6.

La Crosse native Jonathan Davis, for the second consecutive game, struggled from the field. For the first time in his young careeer, the freshman was scoreless, going 0-for-6.

Davis, who did have four rebounds, a steal, block and assist, was 2-for-11 from the field last game.

Wisconsin (10-2, 4-2) had two in double figures — D’Mitrik Trice scored 20 and Micah Potter added 12. The two combined to shoot 12-for-24 from the field and 6 of 12 from deep.

The rest of the team shot 8-for-41 from the field (19.5%), including 3 of 16 from deep.

Michigan, on the other hand, was on fire shooting 32 of 62 (51.6%), including 9-for-16 from deep.

The Wolverines (11-0, 6-0), who also outrebounded Wisconsin 42-34, had a balanced attack with four players scoring between 12 and 16 points.
