Loggers, Northwoods League Opening Day postponed “indefinitely”
Opening Day for the La Crosse Loggers has been postponed, indefinitely, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The entire Northwood League schedule is being postponed, beginning with Opening Day, May 26.
The Loggers would have been on the road at Waterloo that evening.
“Because the situation changes almost daily, and differently in each area where the League operates,” a Northwoods League statement reads, in apart, “our approach is to remain creative, nimble, and adaptable to how each situation unfolds throughout the entire League footprint so that where and when baseball can safely be played, it will be played.”
The league added that, at this time, it’s not possible to maintain a workable schedule because of different rule restrictions for different states.
