Listen to Bob Uecker, as Brewers open series, hosting Cubs on WKTY
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Brewers look to improve on an 8-1 start to the season, opening a three-game series at Miller Park against the Chicago Cubs today.
Pregame on WKTY is at 6:35 p.m. Listen to Bob Uecker and company on 96.7 FM / 580 AM.
The last time these teams met, it was a one-game tiebreaker to make the playoffs.
The Brewers won the game 3-1 and claimed their second division title since 1982. Of course, we all know how last season ended.
Tonight, Milwaukee sends Brandon Woodruff to the mound, while Jose Quintana will start for Chicago.
If it’s close, the Brewers will likely send Josh Hader to the mound. The closer has thrown 62 pitches this season — 60 of them have been fastballs.
He had thrown 42 consecutive fastballs to start the season.
In five innings so far, Hader has given up a hit, a walk and struck out 10. He has three saves.
Just to note, Saturday’s and Monday’s Brewers games will be on WIZM, 92.3 FM / 1410 AM because the NCAA Final Four is on WKTY.
