WIAA FB playoffs: Central hits road, while other MVC teams will host
The Wisconsin high school football playoff brackets are out.
The first round will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
Central (5-4) squeaked into the Division 2 bracket with an eight seed and will play top-seeded Menomonie (9-0), which is ranked 10th in the Large Division AP final poll. The game will be played at UW-Stout.
On the other side of that matchup is fourth-seeded Holmen (7-2), which hosts Marshfield (6-3).
The winners of those two games would play each other the following Friday.
DIVISION 3
Grabbing a share of the Mississippi Valley Conference title with a win over previously undefeated West Salem last Friday, Onalaska was awarded a three seed. The Hilltoppers (8-1) will host No. 6 Mosinee (5-4).
West Salem (7-2) dropped to a fourth seed and will host No. 5 New Richmond (6-2). A win and the Panthers would possibly play top-seeded Antigo (8-1), which wasn’t ranked in the final poll.
