From water and phone chargers to medical assistance, Oktoberfesters can find help at aid station downtown
Oktoberfest can be a marathon for some, starting the party early in the morning and going until the … early morning the next day, and the day after that.
For those who need water, phone charging stations, food, information, taxi services and/or medical assistance, there will be an aid station at the corner of 3rd and Pearl streets – in the Subway parking lot in downtown La Crossse.
The station will open at 8 a.m. and stay until 3 a.m. or later throughout Oktoberfest.
“If we have people still in need of our assistance, we’re not going to turn them away,” La Crosse police Sergeant Tom Walsh said. “We’re going to stay down here and make sure that everybody gets home safely.”
With temps in the lower 70s, police are a little worrisome about things as simple as hydration.
