Matt Thomas, Lakers won’t have Lonzo Ball tonight in Summer League championship
Onalaska native is 9-for-11 from deep last two games.
Over the last two games, Matt Thomas has been on fire for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Onalaska, Wis., native has scored a combined 37 points, going 9-for-11 from beyond the arc.

At 9 p.m. tonight on ESPN, the Lakers take on the Portland Trailblazers in the Vegas Summer League championship, but it won’t feature No. 2-overall pick Lonzo Ball.
The rookie suffered a mild calf strain in the third quarter Sunday and the team will hold him out as precaution.
Ball has averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals. He also posted two triple-doubles and four double-digit assist games.
In seven games, Thomas has averaged 7.7 points over 18.3 minutes. He’s shooting 55.6 percent (20-for-36) from the field to go with 3.1 rebounds and .9 assists.
Sunday night, Thomas scored 20 points, getting praise from NBA legend Magic Johnson, who was sitting at half court.
