Sale played for the Loggers in 2008, Scherzer in 2004

MIAMI — For those La Crosse Loggers fans, the MLB All-Star game will have a special meaning tonight. 

Not only are two former Loggers in the game – the two are the all-star starters, facing off against each other for the AL and NL at 7 p.m. tonight on FOX.

Chris Sale of the Boston Red Sox played for the Loggers back in 2008. The Washington Nationals’ Max Scherzer was on the team in 2004.

Boston Red Sox star Chris Sale will start for the AL, Washington Nationals stud Max Scherzer will toe the rubber for the NL in the #ASG!

Scherzer was 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA for the Loggers. The 32-year-old had 50 strikeouts in just 33 innings. 

Sale was 2-3 in 17 appearances. The 28-year-old struck out 74 in 53 innings his year with La Crosse.
