Anderson shuts out Mets through 7 in 2-1 win.
It had been three weeks since Eric Thames hit a home run before Wednesday night’s blast. The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder went 15 games and 64 at-bats before he hit a two-run home run off the New York Mets Jacob DeGrom. Not long after, Thames picked up his fifth drug test of the season from the MLB, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
So, Eric Thames hits first HR in three weeks and is randomly drug tested after the game. He thinks it’s funny but doesn’t think it’s random.

Thames was last drug tested April 29 after another home run. To the credit of the MLB, he didn’t hit a home run that day. And he did hit home runs in back-to-back games May 7 and May 9 that did not prompt a “random” drug test.
The 30-year-old is hitting .277 with 14 home runs and 28 RBI, after going 0-for-5 in the Brewers 2-1 win over the Mets on Thursday to take the series.
Chase Anderson improved to 4-1 with the win, striking out seven in seven innings of shutout ball. He gave up just three hits and a walk.
The Brewers two runs came in the third and fourth innings – a Hernan Perez RBI double and a Nick Franklin RBI single.
