Area schools will be well represented at state track and field meet
Logan, Central and Aquinas sending a slew of athletes
MIDDLETON, Wis. — The WIAA state track and field meet in La Crosse is officially set, and the area will be well represented.
Holmen High School senior Seth Holden might be the busiest from the Coulee region. He’ll be participating in three events, after Thursday night’s Division 1 sectional from Middleton High School.
Holden qualified for state by winning the 400-meter dash, the 200 and taking third in the 100.
Four others will take part in multiple events at the state meet June 2-3 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Central’s Sam Pinkowski won the 1,600 and 3,200, while teammate Tiyana Harter qualified in the 400 and 100 on the girls side.
Onalaska’s Austin Gylnn took the shot put and discus, and Dion Smith will represent Logan in both the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Also headed to state out of Middleton from Central are Kobe King (high jump), Jett Mickelson (800), both the 800 and 3,200 relays, along with .
Going for Logan is CJ Siegel (triple jump), along with its 1,600 relay.
In Division 2 from the McFarland sectional, Aquinas will be sending a slew of participants to state, led by Lexi Donarski’s second-place section finishes in the 100 and 200. She will helped the 400 relay qualify.
The Aquinas boys send both the 400 and 800 relay teams.
