WKTY poll: Who will get the most carries for the Packers on Sunday?
Eddie Lacy is not an option and neither is Dorsey Levens or Ahman Green.
The last time the Packers played the Cowboys, Eddie Lacy was the running back.
It seems like so long ago. Dallas won that game 30-16 back on Oct. 16.
Lacy carried 17 times for 65 yards (3.8 average, which dwindles to 2.5 yards if you remove Lacy’s 25-yard run). It was also his last carries for the Packers of the season – and maybe forever.
Montgomery got the his first real call as the running back the next week against the Bears, rushing 9 times for 60 yards.
The converted wide receiver, however has been relatively quiet, never getting more than nine carries save for the Week 15 matchup with the Bears, where he ran a career-high 16 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
Just over a month after Lacy’s injury – and a failed trade with the Chiefs Knile Davis – Packers acquired Christine Michael, who had been cut from Seattle (again) and looked to be the best RB on the team last week in the win over the Giants.
Given the importance of a running game – although maybe not quite so much indoors at Dallas – that leads us to this poll question:
