Viterbo volleyball run to national title begins today
V-Hawks ranked No. 2 in NAIA, riding 36-game win streak
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Viterbo University volleyball team starts its run for a national title today in Sioux Falls.
After earning a bye in winning their conference tournament, the V-Hawks open NAIA tournament play at 1 p.m. against the College of the Ozarks.
Viterbo is riding a ridiculous 36-game winning streak, heading into the tournament the second-ranked team in the final NAIA poll.
The V-Hawks (39-2) have made the Final Four the last two seasons and qualified for the NAIA tournament four out of the last five years – including the last three consecutive.
Thirty-two teams enter the tournament, divived into eight pools. The V-Hawks will each of the three other teams in its pool over the next three days.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the single-elimination bracket starting Dec. 2.
