Onalaska’s Glynn headed to Oregon, West Salem’s Bahr to Wisconsin

Two friends and teammates signed national letters of intent Thursday.

Central High School’s Kobe King is officially a Wisconsin Badger, while teammate Bailey Kale signed with Minnesota-Duluth, a Division II school in the NSIC – the same conference as Winona State.

“I’ve been committed there for a little bit over a year, but it makes the dream a reality,” King said of signing with Wisconsin. “Pen on paper, that’s official.”

King averaged 25 points and Kale over 15 last season in leading the Red Raiders to the WIAA Division 2 state tournament. Central finished the season 22-5, losing to Kaukauna 72-45 in the state semifinals. The Ghosts went on to win state 91-62 and finish the season 26-2.

Many atheltes from the region signed letters of intent. From Central, wrestlers Jaden Van Maanen (North Dakota State), Connor Williams (Upper Iowa University) and Harley Deeth (baseball at Quincy University).

For Onalaska, Austin Glynn will be a member of the Oregon Duck’s track and field team. Other Hilltoppers signing: Tayla Stuttley (Minnesota-Mankato women’s basketball), Sydney Hubbard (Sioux Falls women’s golf) and Nick Victor (Central Missouri cross country).

At Aquinas, Sean Dee will play baseball at Illinois-Chicago.

In West Salem, Devin Bahr will join King at Wisconsin to wrestle.

Westby’s Chelsea Olson signed on to play basketball at Youngstown State.

In Minnesota, Winona saw four of its girls basketball players sign on to continue their careers: Eden Nibbelink (Fairfield University in Conn.), Danneka Voegeli (North Dakota State) and Maria Appicelli (Bemidji State) all signed letters of intent, while Abby Winter made the decision to play both volleyball and basketball at Saint Mary’s.

Caledonia’s Maria Schroeder will play hoops at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
