Warriors must win all four remaining
games to take down Jordan, Bulls’ 72 wins

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors hit an unexpected obstacle on their quest to take down Michael Jordan and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ 72-10 record.

The Warriors blew a 17-point lead and lost 124-117 in overtime to the last-place Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Golden State is 69-9 and needs to win all four of its remaining games to eclipse the Bulls record.

Those games will be against rival San Antonio Spurs – one at home and one on the road – and last year’s playoff nemesis, the Memphis Grizzlies (also one at home and one on the road).

Stephen Curry had a rare off-shooting night for the Warriors, who took their third loss against a team currently in last place in its division, following earlier defeats at Milwaukee in December (the Warriors first loss of the season after starting the year 24-0) and last month at the Los Angeles Lakers.

But this one came at home, where the Warriors had won a record 54 regular-season games before falling to Boston last Friday.

Shabazz Muhammad scored a career-high 35 points and Andrew Wiggins had 32 for Minnesota.
