Bangor, Pepin/Alma to meet in state championship
Rematch of last year’s
Division 7 quarterfinals
Last year, it was a Division 7 quarterfinal matchup. This year, it is the state championship.
At 10 a.m. Friday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis., undefeated Pepin/Alma and undefeated Bangor will meet in the high school football state championship.
It’s the second consecutive title game for P/A, which lost 17-12 to Owen-Withee last season.
On its way to that state championship P/A bulldozed Bangor 42-13 in the quarterfinals.
Friday, P/A had no problems with Coleman, winning 35-7. Bangor wasn’t much different, defeating Catholic Central 40-0.
Trevor Heit and Caiden Haake each scored two touchdowns in the P/A (13-0) semifinal win in Marshfield, Wis. Heit finished with 226 yards on 17 carries.
Bangor (13-0) running back Andrew Piske continues his onslaught on defenses, rushing for 299 yards and four touchdowns on just 21 carries. Bangor outrushed Catholic Central (12-1) 498-135.
